Instagram limits and blocks

Instagram Business in AISAR runs on Meta's official Cloud API — no password login, and none of the volume-based ban risk personal accounts carry. Here's how Meta manages the channel's throughput on its own, which messaging habits to keep, and what to do if the account gets restricted anyway.

What you need to know

  • Instagram Business connects the same official way the WhatsApp Business API does — through Meta Embedded Signup, no QR code and no tie to a phone with the app installed.
  • Meta itself manages the sending rate for this channel — AISAR doesn't layer its own per-minute message cap on top, the way it does for unofficial channels like regular WhatsApp or Telegram.
  • That doesn't mean there are no limits at all: Meta monitors conversation quality at the account level and can restrict it temporarily or permanently for violating platform rules — the same way it can with WhatsApp Business.

How Meta manages the channel

In Instagram Business broadcast settings, AISAR doesn't show the "Messages per minute" or "Daily limit" fields visible for regular WhatsApp or Telegram — instead there's a note that this is an official channel and the platform itself manages the sending rate. That's a deliberate choice: there is no point imitating the "human" delay between messages that AISAR adds for accounts behaving like an ordinary app, on a channel that already runs through the official Cloud API.

Messaging habits worth keeping

  • Reply to people who wrote to you first, and avoid mass-sending identical messages to people who never had a conversation with the account — a general rule of Meta's business messaging platforms, not something specific to AISAR.
  • Don't use the conversation channel for openly promotional blasts the recipient never asked for — this is the most common reason Meta restricts business accounts.
  • Replying "stop", "/stop", "unsubscribe" or its Russian equivalent to an AISAR message opts the contact out of future broadcasts across every channel, Instagram included — treat it as the built-in way to honor an opt-out instead of relying on someone simply going quiet.

If the account gets restricted

Restricting or disabling an Instagram account is Meta's call, not AISAR's: the channel in the list (Settings → Channels) shows a matching broken status, but only Meta can lift the restriction. Check the reason and file an appeal through Meta Business Suite or the Meta Accounts Center tied to that Instagram account — the same tools used outside of AISAR.

Common issues

SymptomCause and what to do
The broadcast settings show no "Messages per minute" field for Instagram BusinessExpected: the channel is official, and Meta itself manages the sending rate, not AISAR.
Messages to a customer don't get deliveredThis is usually Meta's own conversation-window rule kicking in, not an AISAR limit — check whether that person messaged you first, or recently.
The channel shows a restricted or disabled statusThat's Meta's own account-quality decision. Check the status and appeal through Meta Business Suite — AISAR cannot lift this restriction on its own.
The plan channel limit is reached when trying to connect Instagram BusinessYour company's plan caps how many channels can be connected at once. Disconnect an unused channel, or raise the limit with an extra-channel add-on in Billing.
