Users, roles, and access permissions
Every employee in AISAR gets one of three roles, which decides what they can see and change. Here's how Administrator, Manager, and Agent differ from each other, how to invite someone new, and how teams limit access to specific channels.
Three roles
| Role | What it can do |
|---|---|
| Administrator | Full access and settings — the only role that sees billing (invoices, payment method), manages the team's makeup (invites, changes roles, removes people), and manages company settings. |
| Manager | Creates and edits nearly everything: conversations, contacts, deals, channels, templates, broadcasts, automations — but doesn't manage the team's makeup (can only view the list) and doesn't see billing. |
| Agent | View and work with conversations — sees most sections but can edit very little: carry on conversations, use telephony, send stickers. An agent can't create or change channels, templates, broadcasts, or settings. |
A role is assigned at the company level — if a user has access to several AISAR companies, they can hold a different role in each.
How to invite an employee
- In Settings → Users, click "Add new user".
- Enter the future employee's email and pick a role — Administrator, Manager, or Agent.
- AISAR creates an invitation and shows a link — copy it and send it to the employee any way you like (messenger, email), or wait for the email to reach the address you entered.
- Following the link, the invitee signs up or signs into an existing AISAR account and immediately gets access to the company with the chosen role.
An already-added employee's role can be changed any time from the same list — open their card and pick a new role. The company plan caps the number of users — see Plans and subscription: how to check and change them.
Teams: access to specific channels
If employees shouldn't see every company channel but only part of it, create a team in Settings → Teams with a name and description, and set its channel access — either every channel or only selected ones (a "Sales" team sees only WhatsApp Business, "Support" sees only Live Chat and Telegram, say). Conversations on channels a team can't access simply don't show up for its members. The "By teams" filter in the Chat section quickly narrows the conversation list down to your own team — more in Working in AISAR chat.
Common issues
| Symptom | Cause and what to do |
|---|---|
| An Agent employee can't edit a template or start a broadcast | That's expected — the Agent role only grants viewing for those sections. If the employee needs more access, give them the Manager role instead. |
| A Manager can't see the Invoices section or can't invite a new employee | Billing and managing the team's makeup are Administrator-only — this isn't a bug, it's the access split by design. |
| The invitee didn't get the email | Ask them to check spam, or copy the invitation link from the users list and send it directly. |
| An employee doesn't see a channel they should have in chat | Check whether they belong to a team with access to that channel — in Settings → Teams. |
